kindergarten class of 2016!
And months later, I'm FINALLY getting a blog post up about our Kindergarten Graduation! Better late than never, right?
What a fast pace and hectic day this was. It felt like - BOOM BOOM BOOM, tears & bittersweet emotions, followed by the graduation ceremony, more tears plus constant photos, and even more tears, then within a blink of an eye, it was all over. Typical feelings on graduation day, of course.
Each time the school year comes to a close for me, I'm always in complete astonishment by how fast the year goes by and how much my kids have grown in JUST a year. It's like looking in the mirror at yourself everyday and thinking to yourself, "I haven't aged or grown one bit." But then you look at little Joey, and think to yourself, "When and how did he grow 5 inches in just a year?!"
Time - some say it's a man-made concept, but it helps your put things into perspective, especially when it comes to measuring growth and progress.
There are so many rewarding factors from being a teacher, but one of the most rewarding feeling is working with your kids day in and day out, then when you finally reach the end of the road - seeing how much progress they've made with your help. As a teacher, there are times you feel a little burnt out, but the physical growth and progress you see your students making gives you light at the end of the tunnel and motivation to continue doing your best because your students deserve the best!
On another note, one thing I absolutely love about having a teaching blog is that it gives me both time and a visual to reflect on my teaching career and progress. Can't believe it's already been 2 years since my first graduation for my Pre-Kindergarten students, and they're now big first graders!

kindergarten graduation gifts
Almost everything was made and Pinterest inspired. My co-teacher and I bought chalk-board black paint and painted the canvases, then had each student put their handprints on the canvas. And of course, no graduation or end-of-the-year gift is complete without an end-of-the-year poem for your students, so I made and laminated bookmarks for each student and tailored the poem to fit my class.

Still completely mind-blown at how fast this day went by. We spent months practicing our graduation performance and speeches, and the day FINALLY arrived. I am so proud of my kids and the students they've become. They're like little dosages of inspiration, and how fortunate am I to have that and have them in my life? Pretty fortunate I'd say.
